The company was founded in 2022 by Grant Haskins, M.S., and Brent Keller, MBA., STEM professionals and devoted dog lovers who both experienced finding out too late that a dog had stage-four cancer. Grant’s furry companions were Kira, Jett, and Cozy, dedicated dogs who spent all their time with the family. Brent’s four-legged buddies were Sandy and Carly. Even though Carly passed when she was only seven, she and Brent managed to walk over 5,800 miles together during her time here. Grant’s background in machine learning and medical image and data analysis complements Brent’s extensive biotechnology experience, and together they created SmartDx to empower other pet parents with knowledge so they can take steps to protect at-risk dogs.Â
