The Science
Our process for lifetime disease risk panels is shown below.
We are able to predict results with high accuracy and low false positive/negative rates because of our proprietary algorithms MORSE and SSIMP.
MORSE is our proprietary Genetic Format Conversion Software that converts next generation sequencing data (most data formats supported) into a binary format for downstream analysis by our proprietary AI diagnostic algorithm SSIMP. In addition to this data format versatility, MORSE is able to subset data from additional larger datasets.
Semi-Supervised Imputation of Mutation Probability (SSIMP) is a proprietary system that uses semi-supervised deep learning to perform lifetime disease risk assessment for dogs. When mutation status for a specific biomarker is unknown, we use contextualizing information about your dog to impute the probability of the mutation occurring. We use our proprietary dataset containing >2,500 dogs that were diagnosed at an advanced ages and >14,000 undiagnosed dogs to create our mutation distributions and lifetime risk prediction models.
Following oral swab and extraction of DNA from the canine sequencing is performed to prepare the genetic sequencing data for MORSE. MORSE then converts the genetic sequencing data to a binary format for downstream AI-powered risk assessment using SSIMP.
Disease Risk Prediction Quality: Our average accuracy across all of our risk prediction tests is >90%. The average false positive rate across all tests is <10%. The average false negative rate across all tests is <10%.
What We Are: We perform disease risk prediction for the lifetime of a dog using an oral swab. We determine if your dog is at risk for developing any of the diseases in the chosen disease panel.
What We Are Not: We do not perform early detection. We also do not offer blood draw based testing. If our AI models identify a disease risk, this does not necessarily mean that your dog has already contracted that disease.
